Increasingly sought after for his “gorgeous deep baritone” (Rutland Herald) also described as “very commanding” and “having an admirable depth of color and excellent projection” (Hardwick Gazette), American baritone Brad Noffsinger Morrison excels in dramatic Italian repertoire, such as those of Puccini and Verdi, as well as the heldenbaritone repertoire of Wagner.
In 2025, Brad undertook Wotan across all of Wagner’s Ring, debuting Die Walküre with Dramatic Voices Midwest in Kansas City and reprising his role as Wotan in Das Rheingold with TUNDI’s Wagner in Vermont festival, where he also covered in Siegfried and Die Walküre. His interpretation of Wotan was praised by the Rutland Herald: “Brad Noffsinger-Morrison gave real presence to Wotan and his frustrations with his ridiculously deep bass,” and was named one of the “outstanding performances” of TUNDI’s 2025 Ring cycle.
He also returned to North Wales Opera as Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana and his signature role as Tonio in Pagliacci, and made debuts with Opera Vermont and Marble City Opera in Pagliacci. Critics have praised his work in this repertoire — described as “powerful” and “sinister” in MyShrewsbury, admired for “excellent projection” in The Hardwick Gazette, and noted for “deep, rich expressiveness” in the Rutland Herald. Arts Knoxville wrote that he made “a case for verismo storytelling” with a “sensational depth of emotion, painted out in expressive vocal colors of bitterness and resignation.”
The year concluded with major Puccini and Bartók role debuts: Scarpia in Tosca, hailed by MyShrewsbury as “a chilling Scarpia with the perfect balance of charm and menace,” and the title role in Bluebeard’s Castle with Fox Valley Opera.
The 2026 season features role debuts in Il Trovatore (Di Luna) and La Fanciulla del West (Rance), alongside eagerly awaited returns to Tosca (Scarpia) and La Boheme (Marcello).
Dedicated to artistic mentorship, Brad maintains an active teaching schedule with in-person and online lessons. He is the Founding Artistic Director of Fox Valley Opera, producing quality opera with local artists in suburban Chicago.
Brad is represented by Peter Hall (https://www.musichall.uk.com/) and studies with dramatic baritone Michael Chioldi.
