Brad Noffsinger-Morrison is a dramatic baritone acclaimed for his commanding presence and powerful voice—described as “booming” and “unique” in the Naperville Sun. His portrayal of Tonio in Pagliacci has become a signature role, recently lauded for “excellent projection” (David K. Rodgers, The Hardwick Gazette) and “deep, rich expressiveness” (Jim Lowe, Rutland Herald).
In 2024, Mr. Noffsinger-Morrison made his role debut as Wotan in Das Rheingold at TUNDI’s Wagner in Vermont Festival. He will reprise the role in 2025 as part of the company’s presentation of Wagner’s complete Ring Cycle—the only full staging of the cycle in North America that year. During the same festival, he will also expand his Wagnerian repertoire by serving as the cover for Wotan in Siegfried.
He made his international debut in 2023 as Marcello in La Bohème with North Wales Opera, earning accolades for the beauty and clarity of his sotto voce. During the 2025 season, Brad returns to North Wales Opera as Alfio in Cavalleria Rusticana and Tonio in Pagliacci in a double-bill, and makes company debuts with Opera Vermont and Marble City Opera, both in productions of Pagliacci.
Mr. Noffsinger-Morrison’s range as both singer and actor has been on display in his many past roles in both the baritone and bass-baritone repertoire, notably in contrasting portrayals—ranging from the treacherous Tonio to the passionate Silvio in I Pagliacci. Brad also adeptly embodies cunning wit in characters like Gianni Schicchi, Figaro in both Il Barbiere di Siviglia and Le Nozze di Figaro, and Malatesta in Don Pasquale, while also excelling in portrayals of nobility such as Il Conte in Le Nozze di Figaro and Escamillo in Carmen, and even comedic rogues such as the Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance and Father in Hänsel und Gretel.
An accomplished concert soloist, Brad continues to expand a concert repertoire that includes major works such as Orff's Carmina Burana, Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem, Fauré’s Requiem, Bach’s Magnificat, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s The Creation, Vaughan Williams' Five Mystical Songs, and others.
Beyond performing, Brad is the Founding Artistic Director of Fox Valley Opera, with a mission to bring operatic experiences sung by local artists to the western suburbs of Chicago. A dedicated mentor and firm believer in the tradition of artistic apprenticeship, Brad maintains an active teaching schedule, offering lessons both in person and online.
Brad earned his undergraduate degree from North Central College in Naperville, Illinois, followed by a two-year Post-Baccalaureate Artist Residency at the College of Charleston in South Carolina studying with soprano Saundra DeAthos and tenor Harold Meers. Brad continues his own apprenticeship under the tutelage of internationally renowned dramatic baritone Michael Chioldi.
By the grace of God, Brad proudly resides in his longtime hometown of St. Charles, Illinois where he lives with his high school sweetheart, their young son, and their cat.
